Yesterday our mail carrier delivered Dennis Okholm's
Monk Habits for Everyday People: Benedictine Spirituality for Protestants. Sent as a suggestion by Sr. Judy Yunker, it's a terrific book. June and I began reading it last evening, and I don't think we'll put it down until we finish it (and then I suspect we'll pick it up again and again). It might be another option for our Lenten reading. Here's a quotation from one reviewer on
http://www.amazon.com/ who gives it five stars:
It's rare to find find a book that does so many things so well. It is interesting, personal, and engaging. It is thoughtful and well-written. And it is full to the brim with spiritual insights. Read a bit each day, sip it alongside your morning cup of coffee, savor each insight, and you'll find your life just gets better and better. A delight.
I'll bring our copy to our next meeting on Thursday, January 31, to that you take a look for yourself.
