My goals for 2008 are:

1. Get up before dawn every morning and greet the Dawn from on high.
2. Read daily from The Rule of Saint Benedict.
3. Post to this blog well enough in advance that its readers can anticipate what's coming up in the prayer, work, and study life of the Church.
4. Within the morning and evening prayer, pray more extemporaneously with my family.
5. Read more poetry.
6. Work very slowly and deliberately through the Greek New Testament.
7. Read at least a book a week and see more movies.
8. Follow Harry Smiley's lead and write a book for my family.
9. Do more serious photography and flyfishing.
10. Talk a daily long walk.

Happy New Year- June & Andy!
I'm awake early today. I've enjoyed reading
some selections from your various web sites,
links, and blogs.
Thanks for the postings.
Love,
April

These seem like lofty goals. I most appreciate the goal of prayer daily. Sometimes the best help of all is the basics the psalms (or in another form the liturgy of the hours), meditating on the Lord's Prayer (Luther recommended that) or just as you say extemporaneously (which is so open and honest (like the Psalms curiously)). All that and flyfishing will sure be good goals for 2008.
