About our February Benedictine Retreat

Sr. Judy, Prioress at The Monastery on Mount Tabor, in Martin, Kentucky, called this morning to say we have reservations for eight-to-ten of us for February, 2009: February 27 (Friday evening) through March 1 (Sunday afternoon). When our Daily Office and Centering Prayer Support Group meets again in late January, we'll fill each other who are committed to going on the details of minimal cost, what to take, transportation needs, and so on.

One little surprise: Sr. Judy tells me that I will be able to make my promises and be received as an oblate with the community while we're there.

What wonderful news about you being received as an oblate - I feel honored that I will be there to (I hope) experience that service. We are really looking forward to the entire weekend experience.

Danielle,
I've been looking forward (without being too forward) to becoming an oblate at Mt. Tabor and am delighted to know that you and others in our little group will be with me. As I come closer to my promises, I'll try to give you some idea about oblature and what it means to me. In the meantime, stick me in your prayers as I get ready and continue my studies so that I know what I'm doing and what becoming an oblate asks of me.
